Feel like donning something fancy and reveling in seasonal cheer?

Suffolk County Historical Society Museum (300 West Main Street, Riverhead) is hosting the 2nd Annual Founders Gala on Thursday, December 7. From 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. partygoers will enjoy live jazz music and cocktails in the Museum's historic galleries, which are decorated for the season. The Gala is the Museum's largest fundraising event of the year and will support its mission "to connect the past to the present and to make the rich history of Suffolk County relevant and meaningful to today's residents and for generations to come." Admission is $75 per person. For more information, visit www.suffolkcountyhistoricalsociety.org.

The Bridgehampton Museum (2368 Montauk Highway, Bridgehampton) is paying homage to the late Claus Hoie, who was known for his watercolors of East End life, during Hoie's Cards Of Love. The reception on Friday, December 8 will feature a lesser known side of the Norwegian-American artist - his whimsical greeting cards. The new exhibition showcases Hoie's adoration for his wife, Helen, through thoughtful declarations of love on wedding anniversaries, Christmas, Valentine's Day, and her birthday. The opening and yuletide celebration will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. For more information, visit www.bhmuseum.org.

Sag Harbor Lions Club is holding a benefit for the Guide Dog Foundation at Almond (1 Ocean Road, Bridgehampton) on Saturday, December 9. Starting at 3:30 p.m., guests will enjoy appetizers, wine, beer, and the chance to learn about the Guide Dog Foundation. Tickets are $45 per person and a special price-fixed dinner will take place after the reception. Admission to the dinner is an additional $35. For more information, visit www.e-clubhouse.org.

Southampton Historical Museum's annual Hearthside Swing Time Party at Captain Albert Rogers Mansion (17 Meeting House Lane, Southampton) will be held on Saturday, December 9. Guests will be transported back to the 1940s at the Greek Revival Mansion, which will be embellished with garlands of fresh winter greens and filled with captivating tunes from the Big Band Era. Attendees - who are encouraged to don outfits inspired by the forties - will also be treated to hors d'oeuvres, splendid sweets, and delicious sips. Anita Boyer and Our Fabulous Variety Show (O.F.V.S.) Dancers will entertain partygoers with performances and swing dance lessons. Admission is $50 for members and $60 for non-members. For more information, visit www.southamptonhistoricalmuseum.org.
