The Hampton Bays Beautification Association (HBBA) will host its 34th Annual Garden Party and Famous Chinese Auction on Saturday, June 1. The grand soiree will take place at Oakland's Restaurant in Hampton Bays from 12 to 3 p.m.

"The funds raised pay for Main Street flowers and urns and park improvements," Susan von Freddi, Board of Directors President, shared.

The Garden Party and Famous Chinese Auction will feature passed appetizers, a buffet lunch, dessert and coffee, wine, beer, bloody marys, mimosas, soft drinks, a 50/50 raffle, and the highly anticipated, Famous Chinese Auction.

Auction items will include gift certificates to several local favorites, including One North, Cor-J's, Rumba, Riverhead Lumber, Canal Café, Edgewater, Scotto's Pork Store, Hampton Car Wash, Carolyn's Good Ground Cleaners, Villa Paul, Tony's Asian Fusion, Gemelli's Gelato, CowFish, Francesca's, and more, wine, a margarita set, a L'Oreal gift basket, Villeroy & Boch tea set, croquet set, wind chimes, a teapot infuser, Leron tea towels, and much more.

Founded in 1985, the Hampton Bays Beautification Association, a 501(C)3 not for profit, believes that "beauty is a force that makes our community healthier, vibrant and more livable." The organization has tackled many projects throughout the years, most recently a major endeavor to improve the Hampton Bays Post Office that included removing the overgrown yews along the sidewalk, installing a new sprinkler system, continuing the brick walkway in the center of the lawn all the way to Ponquogue Avenue, edging and weeding and adding a lawn.

Additional projects to beautify the area include planting trees on Good Ground Road, Main Street and Ponquogue Avenue, flagpole area trees and plantings, the "Welcome to Hampton Bays" signs and plantings, the median plantings and lightings on Route 24, installing 180 hanging planters and 24 large urns each year, memorial benches and trees throughout Hampton Bays, all of the Hampton Bays village holiday decorations and many, many more.

Tickets to the Garden Party and Famous Chinese Auction are $50 in advance purchase and $55 at the door. Tickets are available at the Hampton Bays Library and Fandango.

Oakland's Restaurant is located at 373 Dune Road in Hampton Bays. For more information, visit www.hbba.net.
