Patriotic North Fork Independence Day Parades, Fireworks, And Celebrations

Love a good patriotic parade and fireworks display?

Riverhead Raceway (1797 Old Country Road, Riverhead) will host its NWAAS 69th Year Celebration with Fireworks on Saturday, June 29. The evening will include a Demo Derby, Kids Big Wheel Race, Tour Modifieds (TIME TRIAL 69), Super Pro Truck (20), INEX Legends (20), Figure 8 (15), Truck Enduro, 4/6 Enduro, 4/6 Demo Derby, Kids Big Wheel Race, and Fireworks. The grandstand opens at 4 p.m., the racing commences at 6:30 p.m., and fireworks begin once it gets dark. For more information, visit www.riverheadraceway.com.

The Oysterponds Historical Society will host its annual patriotic Heritage Day on Sunday, June 30 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The afternoon will feature the yearly parade at the Civil War Monument on Village Lane, followed by a reading of the Declaration of Independence at the Old Point Schoolhouse. The Phenix Hook & Ladder Co. and Relief Hose Company Carnival at the Polo Grounds (Moore's Lane, Greenport) will take place from Tuesday, July 2 through Saturday, July 6 with fireworks on Thursday, July 4 and Saturday, July 6. The Carnival will be open 6 to 11 p.m. daily.

Fireworks at Grangebel Park (Peconic Avenue, Riverhead) will take place on Wednesday, July 3 at 9:15 p.m. For more information, visit www.townofriverheadny.gov.

The 27th Annual New Suffolk Fourth of July Parade will take place on Thursday, July 4 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Parade participants will line up (at 10:30 a.m.) at the Corner Tuthill Road and New Suffolk Road, and all are invited to join. The march continues south on New Suffolk Road, then turns left (East) onto Main Street (New Suffolk Avenue), then turns right (South) onto First Street, and ends at New Suffolk Beach. Once all have made it to New Suffolk Beach, there will be a reading of the Declaration of Independence, a brief presentation, and an All American Meal - with hot dogs and apple pie. The Southold Village Fourth of July Parade steps off at 12 p.m., The parade will head down Main Road from Boisseau Avenue to Southold American Legion Griswold-Terry-Glover Post 803.

The Orient Harbor 4th of July fireworks display, presented by the Orient Harbor July 4th Festivities, Inc., will take place on Saturday, July 6 at 9:15 p.m. For more information, visit ww.orientfireworks.com.
