East End Seaport Museum & Marine Foundation is presenting the 26th Annual Maritime Festival starting Friday, September 25th through Sunday, September 27th. The weekend long happening held in the historic Village of Greenport pays tribute to the East End's nautical history.
The festivities kickoff on Friday during the Land & Sea Gala at Greenport Yacht (201 Carpenter Street, Greenport) from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. The evening will feature bites from over 23 restaurants, tastings from more than six wineries, cocktails from three spirit sponsors, a live WEHM
broadcast, and live and Chinese auctions. Admission is $65 for museum members and $75 for non-members.
On Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., open events will take place throughout Greenport, Mitchell Park, and the Marina. Activities will include a Blessing of the Oyster Fleet at the Commercial Fishing Dock, Nautical Demonstrations at East End Seaport Museum, an Opening Day Parade and Blessing of the Waters, Merry Merfolk Contest at Scrimshaw Restaurant, Captain Kidd's Craft Alley at Mitchell Park, Ye Pyrate Brotherhood Show at Mitchell Park, FlyboardLI Demo at Mitchell Park Waterfront, RC Model Sailboats at Railroad Dock, Camera Obscura at Mitchell Park, Children's Games and Relays on the Green at Mitchell Park, Fireboat Re-Dedication Ceremony at Railroad Dock, Kayak Derby at Mitchell Park Waterfront, Fireboat Water Display at Mitchell Park Waterfront, Bug Lighthouse Cruise & Tour at the Seaport Museum and Railroad Dock, Live Music at Mitchell Park Amphitheatre, Original Film Screenings of Greenport at Greenport Cinema, Paul Drum's Breakfast Fundraiser: A Mermaid and Pirate Experience at Front Street Station Restaurant, Children's Story Time at Burton's Book Store, Children's Games and Relays on the Green at Mitchell Park, a Snapper Fishing Contest at Railroad Dock, and Firemen's Tug-O-War at Mitchell Park.
