Project MOST Hosting Community Soup Benefit At American Legion

Nicole Barylski

On Sunday, March 19th, over 30 local chefs will gather at the American Legion Hall Amagansett to serve up a cold weather comfort food favorite, delicious piping hot soup, as part of Project MOST's annual Empty Bowls benefit. The bottomless soup event will take place from 12 to 3 p.m. and is open to all.

"This is a great community event," shared Rebecca Morgan Taylor, Executive Director of Project MOST. "Many local chefs donate their time and talents by creating amazing soups and breads to support a program that teaches local children about healthy eating, organic gardening and where their food come from."

Participating chefs and eateries include Kieran Brew of the Amagansett Fire Department, Cheryl Stair of Art Of Eating, Bell & Anchor, Damien O'Donnell of Harbor Grill, Arjun Achuthan of Hayground School, Chris Egert and Debbie Geppert of Bostwick's, Mill House Inn, Nick & Toni's, Vicky Sdrougias of Old Stone Market, Bill Hall and Lauren Harrington of One Stop, Nabil & Kelly Bahi of Pepperoni's Pizza, Pete Ambrose Events, Jeanine Burge of Silver Spoon Specialties, Juliette Logie of Simply Sublime, Arthur Wolf of Smokin' Wolf, Kristy Hood of Springs General Store, Spiro Dimopoulas of Springs Pizza, Charlotte Sasso of Stuart's Seafood, Shawn Christman of Sea Bean, Mary's Marvelous, Fresno, Estia's, Carissa's Breads, and Dreseens Catering.

Attendees can make an afternoon out of it or pick up some soup to-go if your time is limited. The event will also include a bake sale and arts and crafts for little ones.

"Project MOST is very grateful to everyone who volunteers their time to support a great cause," added Morgan Taylor. "Come and enjoy!"

Proceeds will support Project MOST, an East Hampton-based nonprofit service for local school children interested in engaging in activities after school, and The Springs Seedlings Project, a garden classroom that was inspired by the model of The Edible Schoolyard, on land allocated by the Springs School District.

Admission is $12 for adults, $5 for children (13 and under), $25 for families and free for kids under 5-years-old.
