Long Island 2 Day Walk to Fight Breast Cancer raises awareness and funds for local cancer organizations. Long Island has a high rate of breast cancer with one in nine women being diagnosed with this all too common disease. Since LI2DAY's inception in 2004, the not-for-profit has raised over $3 million. One hundred percent of the funds raised by LI2Day Walk stay right here on Long Island, dedicated to the research, education and cure of breast cancer.

Breast cancer is debilitating mentally, physically and financially, and is an everyday battle for the women, men and families affected by breast cancer. Long Islanders need assistance today.

Help support a worthy cause by donating a prize and by coming out to join us on April 15 for an evening of great food, friends and fun. Doors open at 6 p.m., buffet dinner at 6:30 p.m. Tickets: $30 in advance/$40 at the door.

To donate a prize and/or for additional information please contact Priscilla Brady or Jennifer Miglino at 631-548-6217, Denise Misiewicz at 631-548-6923, or Ginny Martorelli at Cancer Services of Eastern Suffolk County at 631-548-6963.

Additional activities for the Walk include:

The Heaven Can Wait invites everyone to come and enjoy an afternoon of bowling at East Hampton Bowl on Route 27, East Hampton, on Sunday, March 13, 2011, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets for Adults: $35, Children: $15. To purchase tickets, call 631-726-8715. Also, the team will walk on June 11 and June 12, 2011, covering 35 miles, to raise funds for breast cancer, 100 percent of the proceeds from the team's efforts at the LI2Day Walk will benefit the Coalition for Women's Cancers at Southampton Hospital, Lucia's Angels and the Ellen Hermanson Breast Center. Last year, the team raised $68,000 for this worthy effort helping the East End's most needy cases. This year, the team's ambitious target is $100,000 which the energetic members absolutely hope to achieve. All are welcome to participate in the fundraiser at East Hampton Bowl on Sunday, March 23, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m, and if anyone wants to either walk or volunteer for the LI2Day Walk in June, call 631-726-8715.
