"The
Rogers Mansion and grounds will be alive with history during the weekend of
Harvest Day/
Septemberfest," explained
Tom Edmonds, Executive Director of the Southampton Historical Museums and Research Center.
On Friday, September 23rd, the Museum will commemorate harvest season by offering a candlelight open house at the Rogers Mansion from 5 to 6:30 p.m. "Take a candlelight tour of the 20 room Rogers Mansion built in 1843 by whaling Captain Albert Roger," shared Edmonds. Along with learning more about the area's history and exploring the Museum, guests will be treated to seasonal treats - like cider and gingerbread cookies. Tours will run approximately every 15 to 20 minutes. Admission to the Harvest Candlelight Open House is $10 for adults, and free for members and children 17-years-old and under.
On Saturday, September 24th, take a trip back in time when
Southampton Historical Museum pays homage to a simpler era during its annual Harvest Fair.
"Mom, dad and the kids can watch traditional farm crafts like blacksmithing, sheep shearing and a bake sale," noted Edmonds about the Harvest Fair. "

The Fair will transport attendees back to the 19th century as guests take in activities and demonstrations that highlight a period when all members of the family had a hand in household responsibilities. The Harvest Fair will also include a bake sale at The Consignment Shop.
Admission to the Harvest Fair is free.
On Sunday, Southampton Historical Museum will offer free admission to the Museum and The Consignment Shop will also be open.
