Artists will include Hector deCordova, Charles Wildbank, Jim Sabiston, and Alex Vignoli. They will each have artwork on display at the Alex Ferrone Photography Gallery, which is the only photography Gallery on the North Fork.
Charles Wildbank starts the series on Saturday, November 9 at 11 a.m. Wildbank will discuss Photorealism and show how he prepares his photographs for use as sketches.
At 1 p.m., Hector deCordova will explain the use of photographs as references for elements of his paintings and also the value of photography to conserve transitory moments for future paintings.
Sunday, November 10 starts with Alex Vignoli at 12 p.m. He will lead another discussion at 3 p.m. The fine art photographer will reveal methods he uses for photomontage, the formation of photographic composites and the blending of two or more images to make an entirely different concept image with the utilization of specific image-editing software.
