INTERVIEW: "The Bachelor" Star Lauren Burnham-Luyendyk On Hosting A Backyard Fashion Show For Her New Label, Shades Of Rose, The Latest Collection And More

Former reality television personality Lauren Burnham-Luyendyk showcased her newly launched fashion label, Shades of Rose, offering a unique front-row seat to a classic runway experience in her backyard featuring runway lighting and 18 models showcasing 26 different looks from her pre-fall collection. Burnham-Luyendyk live streamed the fashion week experience from her home in Phoenix that she shares with former The Bachelor franchise lead, Arie Luyendyk, Jr. and their daughter, Alessi.

Shades of Rose is the first product launch from Burnham-Luyendyk following her appearance on Season 22 of ABC's The Bachelor. On After the Final Rose, Luyendyk, Jr. proposed to Burnham-Luyendyk in front of a live studio audience in Los Angeles on March 6, 2018. The pair got married on January 12, 2019, in front of 100 guests in Maui, including The Bachelor host Chris Harrison - who officiated the wedding. The couple welcomed their first child together, Alessi Ren Luyendyk, on May 29, 2019.

The event showcased the work of Burnham-Luyendyk's two-years of sweat, determination and hard work, bringing Shades of Rose to market. The line is a lifestyle inspired brand for the spirited muse who cannot be defined as one thing because there are many shades to who she is - courageously herself, paving her own path and is always up for a little adventure along the way. The line includes blazers, blouses, bodysuits, dresses, pants, rompers, shirtdresses, skirts, and tops, prices ranging from $40 to $150.

From a college degree and corporate jobs, Burnham-Luyendyk always knew where her path would lead, inspiring women to be courageous and pave their own path through fashion. All the line's pieces transition organically into multiple seasons featuring unique and iconic wardrobe options. Shades of Rose thrives on providing women with that extra splash of inspiration to dream, believe and achieve - positively supporting women to discover their purpose, walk through life confidently, and challenge the social norm.

Our favorite look was the Heather Romper coupled with the silver bedazzled face mask and boots. What was the inspiration for the pre-fall collection?

LBL: That was one of my favorites too! The pre-fall collection was called "chasing the last summer sunset," so for us it was all about emulating the vibe of those last weeks of summer before fall rolls in. With that being said, we wanted the pieces to be transitional into fall so that our girl could still rock them during the following season.

Was it difficult for you to start a fashion line and produce a runway show during a pandemic?

LBL: It was! Our launch month was definitely one of the more stressful months of my life, but Shades of Rose is my other baby so I was adamant that everything had to be perfect. Due to the pandemic things were a little different than I had initially imagined, but I still wanted to build the excitement surrounding the launch and get people involved in some way. This is where the virtual fashion show came in! It was hosted in my backyard and live streamed via our Instagram page @shadesofrose .

How has your life changed since you've been on The Bachelor?

LBL: For me, before the show feels like another lifetime ago. I was 25 when I went on the show. I was single, living with a roommate in Dallas, working a 9 to 5 and going out on the weekends. Now I'm married, I'm a mom, I live in Arizona, I work for myself and I am definitely not going out anymore. Haha.

What collection(s) can your customers look forward to next (Fall/Winter or Spring/Summer)?

LBL: We are launching our Fall collection September 30th and I can't wait for everyone to see! I'm obsessed with the colors and styles of this one. We are currently working on Fall, Holiday, Resort, Spring, Summer and a very exciting capsule collection that will be coming out in May! Every collection I get more and more excited about!
