LCpl Jordan Haerter Memorial Fishing Tournament At Sag Harbor Long Wharf

On Saturday, September 22, 2012, the Jordan Haerter Fishing Tournament will be held at the Long Wharf in Sag Harbor which will benefit Jordan's Initiative which buildings homes for heros and patient airlift services.

The event is in honor of Hero LCpl Jordan C. Haerter, USMC, a Sag Harbor resident who died at the age of 19 saving the lives of 33 Marines, over 20 Iraqi Police and countless innocent civilians.

The day will be full of family fun, food festivities, fundraising, music, prizes, surprises, and all out fun in Sag Harbor. The event activites include childrens snapper derby and free pole for early registrants, a free t-shirt and BBQ for all registrants, music by the world famous Who Dat Loungers, catered BBQ by the incomparable Peter Ambrose Events, fishing mentors and clinics for children, a special live broadcast by personalities from WLNG.

The fishing tournament starts anytime after 4:00 a.m., the family festival under the tent is from noon to 5:00 p.m., the snapper derby contest is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the fishing tournament weigh-in is at 2:00 p.m. sharp.

The largest striped bass and bluefish will win cash prizes, a special $500 Sea Tow prize for the largest Striped Bass or Bluefish caught on a Sea Tow registered vessel and prize medals for snapper derby fishermen. Items for raffle include a golf foursome raffles to Atlantic GC and East Hampton GC, along with thousands of dollars of raffle prizes all day long. Their will be special auction of an aerobatic plane ride on a World Renowned Pitts Biplane piloted by a professional aerobatic pilot!

Register Discounts for early registrants before September 15th and all military veterans get a discounted rate with proof.

Fishing Tournament rules:
Registrants may begin fishing at 4:00 am in all bodies of water between Shinnecock and Montauk Point. Final weigh-in will be at 2:00 pm SHARP on the Long Wharf in Sag Harbor. No fish will be accepted for weigh-in after 2:00 pm EST. All decisions by the fishing committee are final.

Patient AirLift Services arranges free air transportation based on need to individuals requiring medical care and for other humanitarian purposes. Our network of volunteer pilots provide this service without compensation using their own or rented aircraft. In no case are fees of any kind charged for these services. Generally the individuals who utilize our services have limited financial resources or are receiving diagnosis, treatment or follow-up for various types of acute or chronic illnesses or conditions that make it either financially impossible or otherwise infeasible to use public commercial or private charter transportation.
