Joseph Gergela appointed to U.S. Department of State's Advisory Committee on International Economic Policy. (LIFB)

Calverton - LIFB's Joseph Gergela was appointed to the U.S. Department of State's Advisory Committee on International Economic Policy (ACIEP).

The ACIEP advises the U.S. Department of State on a broad range of international economic policy issues. The committee has provided policy advice on issues, including the review of the Model Bilateral Investment Treaty; economic sanctions policy; the impact of the global financial crisis on U.S. international business operations; U.S.-China relations; free trade agreements; private sector development in Iraq and Afghanistan; the U.S.-Canada-Mexico Security and Prosperity Partnerships; U.S. India economic relations; the EU Transatlantic Economic Council; Africa and U.S. malaria policy; and public-private Partnerships.

The committee of 60 individuals meets three to four times per year and all members are asked to serve a two year non-compensatory term.
