The 2016 summer season may have ended more than a month ago - to everyone's dismay but, fear not, for one of this past summer's most successful events can be seen on the horizon, once again for summer 2017. The inaugural Hamptons Contemporary Design and Decor Show was incredibly successful for artists and fair-goers alike. The show's 160 allocated booth spaces were completely sold out before the opening of the event, and the Elks Fairground in Southampton, the area located off Montauk Highway that hosted the market, saw a healthy deluge of attendees. It was a unification of artist and appreciators and can be remembered as "the most useful and practical event on the summer social calendar."

Hamptons Contemporary is the only home design fair in the Hamptons, and offers a multitude of high-end, top quality products and services catered to the Hamptons luxury estates. Everything necessary (and not so necessary) to deck out your home from top to bottom, inside and out, can be found at this very fair. Accompanying the 160 exhibitors at the 2016 fair came over 5,000 guests.

"Our mission is to recruit many world-class designs, leading luxury brands, unique or limited edition furnishings and artisanal treasures that are just not otherwise seen or available in the Hamptons," explained fair curator, Rick Friedman. "We want to provide the 'wow' factor to Hamptonites discovering jaw-dropping must-haves. Best of all, most of these amazing and breathtaking items are available immediately."

Looking ahead to next summer, the fair is moving from its original date in early June to the weekend of Thursday, July 20th through Sunday, July 23rd. By moving to the height of the Hamptons season and expanding the dates to make it a four-day-long event, the masterminds behind the booming event expect to see not only a larger influx of luxury homeowners and masters of the trade, but also look forward to welcoming a Trade Day on Friday, July 21st for interior designers, builders, and architects.

Among the many premier designers and brands offered at the bazaar, there will be one area dedicated to the decor and furniture of the 1950s-70s and another exhibition honoring the late famous Springs art couple, Elaine and Willem De Kooning.

The event will be held at the expanded Southampton Design Pavilion where a greater number and array of artists will be able to be represented at the show. Event coordinators expect, given the shift to the more prime time in the summer season, a jump to possibly over 7,000 attendees. Stepping the show up even more, the upgraded venue will hold a Welcome and VIP Lounge.
