8th Annual Homegrown For The Holidays To Highlight The Works Of More Than 50 Local Artists, Food Purveyors, And Makers

Homegrown For The Holidays, the highly anticipated Hayground School Artisanal Food & Craft Bazaar, will take place on Saturday, December 7.

"Homegrown for the Holidays always jump starts the season for me and gets me into the spirit of the holidays," Marcelle Langendal, Hayground Faculty Chair, said.

The 8th annual iteration will boast exceptional works from over 50 local artists, food purveyors, and makers. 2019 vendors will include Memories to Behold, North Fork Creations, Felt Fantastic Hand Knits, Nauti Gal Soaps, Shelly Sells Sea Salt Inc., Kannaway, Sweet Woodland Farm, Marie Lombardi, Knottin Fancy, South Fork Bakery, Scales and Tails Prints, Heart of Glass Handmade, Morelands Upcycling, Halo Halo Philippine Bag Co., White Elephant Designs, 8KNOTS LLC, Sag Harbor Glass, Danielle Leef Photography, Made in the Hamptons, Green Door Woodworks, As If Wines, Vena Rico Designs, East End Light, Peaceful Planet Yoga, MB Pearls, Sag Harbor Seashells, Diaspora Books, Lora Lomuscio Studio, Red Truck Apiary, Southampton Soap Company, Designs By the Sea, Positive Charm, Hamptons Handpoured, Jacqueline Rene Jewelry, Globally Crafted, Mary Jaffe Pottery, Lavender of the Hamptons, Thunderbird Designs, K's Crafts, Fran's Sewing Studio, Sagaponack Potato Co., Life is Grruff, Alicia Mack Pottery, Dennis Bontempo Photography, Lark Designs, Mimi Page Jewelry, Jennifer Briand Photography, Montauk Surf Company, Eyes on You, Handmade in Sag Harbor, and Stars Cafe.

"We will have over fifty local artisans and vendors this year, selling a wide variety of items, including jewelry, ceramics, glassware, art, photography, accessories, home decor—even handmade treats and accessories for your pet," Todd Farley, Hayground parent and Homegrown For The Holidays co-organizer, noted.

The shopping extravaganza, which is free to attend and open to the public, will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. In addition to the extraordinary selection from local makers, Homegrown For The Holidays will also include fun crafts for children, raffles for exciting specialty items, seasonal tunes, and a new special spot to wrap your finds.

"We will be raffling baskets of the unique and beautiful items crafted by our vendors, and WEHM radio will be on site from 12 to 2 p.m., playing holiday music and doing prize giveaways," Donna Farley, Hayground parent and Homegrown For The Holidays co-organizer, relayed. "New this year, we will offer gift-wrapping for shoppers, using eco-friendly materials and items from nature."

Vendor fees support Hayground School's academic programs, while Homegrown For The Holidays sales directly support local artists and business owners. Hayground School, which was founded in 1996, offers children age 3 through 13 "a hands-on education based on mentorship, student-led inquiry, and authentic endeavors in the arts, sciences, and humanities."

"Jean [Lindgren] and I have found some wonderful presents shopping at Homegrown for the Holidays, including some lovely beaded jewelry from a Hayground graduate and member of the Shinnecock Nation!" Tony Hitchcock of Hitchcock & Lindren shared.
