The American Culinary Federation's Eastern Long Island Chefs Chapter and Slow Food East End are hosting the first annual S.E.E.D. (Sustainable East End Development) fundraiser on Sunday, September 28, 2014, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Westhampton Beach Country Club. The event will bring together foodies, chefs, breweries, vineyards, farmers, and fisherman for an extraordinary evening of food, drink and celebration. Proceeds will benefit Slow Food's Edible Garden Project and ACF's Chefs Move to School, both of which support the farm-to-table movement using gardens created at East End schools.
PBS Lifestyle Personality and Chef, George Hirsch, will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the evening. Nearly 20 restaurants/chefs are taking part in the event, including Tom Schaudel of Alure and Jewel, Gerry Hayden and Kevin Penner of The North Fork Table, Noah Schwartz of noah's, Douglas Gulija of The Plaza Café, Lia Fallon of Brewology, Michael Meehan of Noyac Golf Club, Todd Jacobs of Fresh Hamptons, Ralph Perrazzo of BB&D's, Craig Attwood of Jedediah Hawkins, Guy Reuge of Mirabelle Tavern, Sean Fontaine of Atlantis Marine World, Jay Jadeja of West/East Bistro, Patrick Gaeta of North Fork Bacon, John Menz of 21 Main, Richard Lanza of Ristegio, David Blydenburgh of Sydney's Gourmet and Bill Dougherty of St. Charles Hospital.
Wash down the tasty fare with beer from Southampton Publick House and St. James Brewery or wine from Raphael Vineyard and Winery, Lenz Winery, One Woman Wines and Vineyards, Roanoke Vineyards, and Mattebella Vineyards.
Participating farmers include William Lee of Sang Lee Farms, Jane Maguire of Long Island Mushroom, Steph Gaylor of Invincible Summer Farms, Philip Mastrangelo of Race Rock Oyster, Maryann Krupski of Margene Farms, and Holly Browder of Browder's Birds.
Tickets are $75 for general admission and $125 for VIP admission.
