Acclaimed Local Chefs Gather At Golden Earthworm To Help Support The Peconic Community School

The North Fork Education Initiative
will hold their second annual fundraiser and cocktail reception on Sunday, August 11, 2013. The event will be held at the Golden Earthworm Organic Farm
in Jamesport from 5 to 8 p.m. and will feature farm fare, drinks, live music, and a silent auction.
The food will come from North and South Fork farms, prepared by acclaimed local chefs including the evening's Head Chef, Michael Meehan
of Smithtown's H2O. Meehan will be assisted by Lia Stanco Fallon of The Riverhead Project
, Todd Jacobs
from Fresh Hamptons, and Noah Schwartz
The evening's wine will also be provided by local wineries, like the Jamesport and Shinn Estate Vineyards
. Joe & Liza's Ice Cream
and the Blind Bat Brewery will also be contributing to the event.
Live music will be performed by the upbeat and aptly named Soul Jazz Train Express. A silent auction will offer guests the opportunity to bid on various local experiences, including a round of golf for four at the famous Sebonack Golf Club
and dinner in the private dining room at Ballo
in Mohegan Sun
Proceeds from the event will help support the Peconic Community School
in Aquebogue. The Peconic Community School is an alternative educational option that provides children with collaborative, arts-integrated learning opportunities. Lea Abrams, a resident of Sag Harbor and an educational advisor for the School will serve as the evening's guest speaker. She will explain the unique educational approach of the School to the audience and exhibit a showcase of student work.
