- Today is National Rum Day so for those of you who love rum, sit back and relax with one of these delicious drinks.
1. The Atlantico RUMba: Enrique Iglesias
will be sipping this cocktail after his LA performance with Jennifer Lopez
so you know it is good.
• 1.75 oz. Atlantico Rum
• 1 oz. Apple cider
• .75 oz. Cranberry juice
• .5 oz. Lime juice
• .75 oz. Simple syrup
Add ingredients in Boston glass. Add ice and shake vigorously. Strain into cocktail glass. Garnish with 3 cranberries and graham cracker glass rim.
2. Daiquiri L'Orange:
This fruity cocktail is the perfect drink to enjoy the last weeks of summer.
• 2 oz. Mount Gay Rum
• .5 oz. Cointreau
• .5 oz. Fresh lime juice
• .5 oz. Fresh lemon juice
• 1 Bar spoon orange marmalade,
• Grated cinnamon
Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice.
3. Savoy Daisy:
This delicious cocktail was created by Erik Lorincz, the head bartender at the famed Savoy Hotel in London, so if you happen to be in London make sure you stop by for one.
• ½ oz. Ruby Port
• ¼ oz. Diplomatico
• 2 Bar spoons Diplomatico Reserva
• 3 Bar spoons muscovado sugar
• ¼ Fresh lemon juice
• 3 Dashed grenadine
Shake well and strain through a sieve into a chilled cocktail coupette. Garnish with an orange twist.
This easy to make cocktail is perfect for sitting on the beach while watching the sunset.
• 1 1/2 oz. White Rum
• 3/4 oz. Cointreau
• 3/4 oz. Lime juice
• 2 Dashes maraschino
Combine all ingredients with ice in a mixing glass. Shake and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
5. Cruzan "Don't Hurry" Cane:
This cocktail was created specially for National Rum Day, so sit back and celebrate.
• 1 part Cruzan Vanilla Rum
• 2 parts Cruzan Aged Light Rum
• 1 Tsp Sugar
• 3 Lime Wedges
Combine 2 of the lime wedges, sugar Cruzan Vanilla Rum in a tumbler and lightly muddle for ten seconds. Add Cruzan Aged Light Rum and a scoop of ice and shake hard for 20 seconds. Strain into a chilled Hurricane glass and garnish with the final lime wedge.
