INTERVIEW Ralph Macchio: Karate Kid Turned Director In "Across Grace Alley"

Rising to fame in the 1980s as Johnny from "The Outsiders" (1983) opposite Patrick Swayze and Daniel in "The Karate Kid" (1984) then resurfacing in the 1990's with Joe Pesci in "My Cousin Vinny" (1992), and most recently as the partner of Karina Smirnoff on "Dancing With The Stars," actor turned director Ralph Macchio premiered his new film, "Across Grace Alley," at this year's HIFF. We caught up with the Huntington, NY native, who enjoys his Hamptons "house that the 80's built" in Montauk in his free time with his wife and two children, at the Maidstone just after the premiere of his latest offering, "Across Grace Alley" which co-stars his dancing partner, Karina. The film tells the sad story of a young boy who is dealing with his parents divorce and becomes enamored with his lovely neighbor. Ralph talks about the film, his long career on the big screen, and pokes fun at his most famous alter ego with Funny Or Die in "Wax On, F*ck Off!"
