Hallockville Museum Farm
in Riverhead and Eat Me Drink Me Food Truck are joining forces to present the inaugural Food Trucks at the Farm on Saturday, October 26.
The bound to be delectable event at Hallockville was established to highlight a growing local industry within the food scene and commemorate small businesses, craft-made bites, and sips, and the event's historic site. "I wanted to draw attention to Hallockville as well as food trucks, especially those serving the North and South Forks," Michelle Panciarello, owner of Eat Me Drink Me and co-organizer of the Derby, explained.
From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., attendees can taste a variety of yummy dishes from East End favorites, including Eat Me Drink Me, Mattitaco, Moustache Brewing Company, Rolling in Smoke, Chiddy's Cheesesteaks, North Fork Doughnut Company, Island Empanada, Roxy's Ice Cream Truck, Anewyorkicanthing, Nice Buns, Cheezy Pete's, and more, as well as explore Hallockville. Guided Hallockville Homestead Tours are offered on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tourgoers will gain an understanding of life on a 19th century Long Island farm, check out Hallockville's historic barn and home, and learn about the farm's founding family, the Hallocks, who lived and worked there for more than 250 years. Tours are $7 for adults, $5 for seniors and children ages 5-12, and free for children under 5.
"The Museum Farm is excited to be hosting the Derby since it is a fun way to help 'promote local,'" Herb Strobel
, Hallockville's Executive Director, added. "We are also pleased to be be working with Eat Me Drink Me. Michele is a great partner and her vision of food trucks at the farm is one we fully embrace."
The Food Truck Derby is being sponsored by Edible East End
and Isobel Media.
Tickets to Food Trucks at the Farm are $7 per person, $20 for a pack of four, and kids under 12 are free. Ticket sale proceeds will support Hallockville Museum Farm, a 501c3 not-for-profit organization whose mission is to "take Long Island back to its family farming roots and explore their relevance today."
