The Watermill Center
's latest Artists' Table
will feature an exceptional farm-to-table meal prepared by local chef and restaurateur Jason Weiner
, paired with an intimate presentation by Artist-in-Residence and 2017 Inga Maren Otto Fellow, Royce Weatherly.
"The Watermill Center is one of the truly special places on the East End," noted Weiner, executive chef and proprietor of Almond
restaurant. "There is a natural connection between food, farmers and art of all kinds. The brunch series celebrates this connection."
Almond, which offers seasonal and daily menus that are created using market-fresh ingredients, opened in Bridgehampton in 2001. Weiner and his partner Eric Lemonides
opened a second Almond located in Manhattan's Flatiron District in 2008. The popular "un-Hamptons" restaurant - as they dubbed it - has earned accolades from Wine Spectator
and The New York Times.
The restaurateurs, along with Antonio Rappazzo and David Belknap, are also responsible for L&W Oyster Company, which opened in 2012.

Weatherly, an American painter from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, received his BA from Wake Forest University and MFA from the University of Wisconsin/Madison. His painting style "combines his peculiar Vermeer-like still lives with an eerie quietude devoid of narrative symbolism." Weatherly painstakingly takes his time creating each piece, which are "both luminous and precise in detail." Weatherly is in the midst of a five-week residency at The Watermill Center that will focus on the final touches of several paintings. In addition to the residency, The Watermill Center is also presenting Looking Slowly: 30 Years of Painting
, showcasing works from Weatherly that span 1995 to the present. This exhibition is open by appointment only, or during public programs at The Watermill Center, through Wednesday, October 11.
will take place on Sunday, October 1 from 12 to 2:30 p.m. Admission is $75.
The Watermill Center is located at 39 Watermill Towd Road in Water Mill. For more information, call 631-726-4628 or visit www.watermillcenter.org.
