On Friday, June 3rd, Fred Raimondo will headline the Second Annual Songwriters Share
series finale. Taking place at the Unitarian Universalist Meeting House, proceeds from the evening will support The Retreat
, the East End's only domestic violence agency.
"I'm really looking forward to this evening. Getting the opportunity to share some songs and to have the proceeds benefit The Retreat is a true privilege," said Fred Raimondo. "I will be performing songs from Stories From The Dark Heart Tavern
as well as some new material which will be released this summer on my upcoming CD, Little Flower.
I will be joined by Sarah Green on guitars, vocals and violin and Jean Schroder on percussion."
The Long Island-based musician has played at clubs and colleges throughout the Northeast, as well as at Homegrown Music Cafe, Underground Sound at 230 Down, Nancy Atlas
' Songwriters In The Round, Original Voices at The Vail, and Cynthia Daniel's Crossroads Music Live.
During each Songwriters Share, the featured artist has the opportunity to choose which local organization benefits from the show's entry fee. "This concert will wrap up the second season of the Songwriters Share Concert Series
-which has benefited six local charities and has brought people in our community together for a great night of music," noted Nancy Remkus
, who organized the series. "In this quiet and intimate setting you really get to know the musician and get a sense of their creative process and what inspired them to write their songs."
Remkus believes it will be an exciting finale. "Fred's music is soulful and takes us on a musical journey of the heart," she added.
The concert begins at 8 p.m. and admission is $15. A complimentary wine and cheese reception will follow the performance.
Unitarian Universalist Meetinghouse is located at 977 Sag Harbor Turnpike in Bridgehampton. For more information, contact Nancy Remkus at 631-725-3938.
