Rooted Hospitality Group Opens New Restaurant In Westhampton Beach

Rooted Hospitality Group - the team behind RUMBA Inspired Island Cuisine & Rum Bar and Cowfish in Hampton Bays, RHUM Island Inspired Cuisine & Rum Bar in Patchogue, and AVO TACO in New Hyde Park - has opened another Hamptons restaurant, flora in Westhampton Beach.

"We're thrilled to embark on a new journey and introduce flora as our next adventure," David Hersh, Chef and Owner of Rooted Hospitality Group, said. "It's a beautiful little gem and we can't wait for guests to enjoy flora's great food, drinks, and hospitality."

Located at 149 Main Street, flora is a fine-dining restaurant serving lunch, dinner and brunch year-round. Each dish is made with the freshest ingredients - such as Seared Scallops with summer corn, chorizo, fresno peppers, buttermilk reduction, and jasmine rice and Pan-Seared Bronzini with parsnip purée, fennel salad, citrus pan sauce, pomegranate seeds, in a blood orange balsamic reduction. A well-loved dish is the Grilled Filet Mignon with wild mushroom demi and pomme purée and a French Dip sandwich with shaved slow-roasted prime rib and genuine au jus will be offered on the menu alongside new, contemporary options like a warm brown-buttered Lobster Roll with tarragon aioli and flora slaw and the vegan Soba Noodles with sautéed mushrooms, carrots, carrots, kale, red cabbage, onions, tahini dressing, and toasted coconut.

"The team has put their heart and soul into creating a well-balanced menu that appeals to every palate," Terri Novak, the restaurant group's Director of Culinary Operations said. "We are thrilled to finally welcome guests into flora so they can experience our vision come to life."

The menu will also offer a robust wine and cocktail list. flora's cocktails are inspired by classic American cocktails with a modern twist of house-made spirits and fresh ingredients. Beverage Manager, Michael Matozzo said his favorites are libations like the Lavender Fizz with lavender-infused vodka, blueberries, house sour, and soda, or the Well Fashioned with Maker's Mark bourbon whiskey, brandy-marinated cherries, orange, and Angostura bitters.

"It was a true team effort to put together our drink menu," Matozzo added. "Finding some elevated wines and then creating cocktails that feel timeless while also being unique and true to our vision."

The 1,600-square-foot restaurant underwent an extensive renovation by Over the Edge Construction, Inc. Their goal was to create an aesthetic for the building that was representative of the restaurant's name with the help of Pam Glazer Architect. The final building makeover resulted in modern designs, clean lines with refined textures and a mature color palette. flora offers indoor and outdoor dining, as well as a full bar.

The restaurant has implemented a number of safety protocols during this pandemic - such as employees having their temperatures checked daily and wearing face coverings at all times. The dining room has been configured to accommodate socially distanced diners and will operate at 50 percent capacity. Guests will also be able to use QR code menus and are required to wear face masks when not seated and maintain a social distance of six feet from other parties.
