Hamptons Conversation Series Focuses On Local Farmers, Chefs, And Food And Beverage Producers

On Sunday, March 6th, the seventh annual Peconic Land Trust Long Island Grown Series featuring East End experts returns to Bridge Gardens. Once again, the lectures will highlight local farmers, food and beverage producers and chefs.

"From multi-generation farm families to farmers new to the East End to the chefs and producers who are incorporating our local produce into wonderful tastes, the conversation series explores their influences, innovations, and partnerships," noted Kathy Kennedy, Outreach Manager at Peconic Land Trust. The 2016 talks will take a look at a few of the innovative and entrepreneurial products that come from the East End and explore how locally grown goods are evolving to meet the changing tastes of consumers. "The Peconic Land Trust is delighted to connect the community to the women and men who are growing, crafting and sharing the flavors of the East End," shared Kennedy. Laura Donnelly, a local pastry chef, author, and food editor of the East Hampton Star, will moderate the three-person panel style presentations.

"We are excited once again to hear from the women and men growing, crafting, producing and sharing the bounty of the East End," added Kennedy. "Their stories are inspiring and the questions from the audience are always thoughtful and thought-provoking."

This year's conversations will kickoff on Sunday, March 6th with "The Cocktail Party" featuring Vaughan Cutillo of Montauk Brewing Company, Michael Kontokosta of Kontokosta Winery and Chef Noah Schwartz of Noah's.

On Sunday, March 20th, attendees will hear about "The Appetizer" from Nadia Ernestus of Hamptons Brine, Mirijana Ujkic of Wild Feast Foods, and Chef Tom Schaudel of The Petulant Wino.

On Sunday, April 3rd, explore "The Entrée" with Patty Gentry of Early Girl Farm, Richie King of North Sea Farms, Chef Joe Realmuto of Nick & Toni's, and Ed Tuccio of North Quarter Farm.

The panels will conclude on Sunday, April 17th with "The Dessert" featuring Alexander Damianos of DuckWalk Vineyards, Patricia DiVello of Patty's Berries and Bunches, and Tom Wickham of Wickham's Fruit Farm.

All presentations start at 2 p.m. Admission is $25 per person or $20 for current members of Bridge Gardens, and pre-registration is required.
