Friday, October 13th marks the beginning of a weekend filled with fall fun and activities for everyone. SouthamptonFest
, previously known as Southampton SeptemberFest
, will be having its seventh annual celebration in Southampton Village
The East End extravaganza kicks off on Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. in Agawam Park
, with a cocktail party held by Southampton Rotary Club
. The beloved soiree will feature music from The Nancy Atlas
Project and Beau Hulse
, beer and wine, and refreshments provided by local food trucks will be available to purchase. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $30, or for $40 at the door.
The rest of the weekend will celebrate the art, history, food, music, and culture of Southampton with a variety of vendors, events, and activities spread throughout the Village.
"The committee is looking forward to a fun-filled weekend with activities for the whole family that includes live music throughout the Village, culinary delights, our annual chowder contest, art vendors and entertainment for children and adults," shared Kirsten Lonnie
, Executive Director of Southampton Cultural Center
and a member of this year's SouthamptonFest Committee.
On Saturday, one can walk through Agawam Park and enjoy live music from Next Level Band, Lynn Blue
Band, and the Hoodoo Loungers
. There will be a chowder contest, horse and buggy rides, and plenty of fun options for the children with face painting, pumpkin decorating, Jester Jim, and performances from Keith Leaf
and the Bellini Bros. family circus. The sidewalks will be lively with music from Charles Certain and Certain Moves, Eastbound Freight
, Island Time, and Liam Meaney. The grounds of the Southampton Historical Museum
(17 Meeting House Lane) will boast Civil War reenactments, candle-making, decoy carving demonstrations, rifle shooting, and more during a Harvest
Day Fair. Admission to the museum's fair is free.

Sunday, the final day of SouthamptonFest, will have performances beginning at 11 a.m. from Music Together by the Dunes, Penny Lane Tribute Band, and Billboard
Live. There will also be safety demonstrations from Southampton's Fire and EMS departments, a Farmer's Market, face painting, and food trucks from the East End. This year's festival also includes a new addition: a Chili Cook-Off between first responders. All of these attractions will be held at Agawam Park.
On both Saturday and Sunday, in the back half of the park, there will be 25 different art vendors selling beautiful photographs, paintings, sculptures, jewelry, and other artisanal goods. There will also be exhibits at the Southampton Arts Center

) and Southampton Cultural Center (25 Pond Lane) featuring Steampunk art and photographs of flowers, respectively. For those interested in golf, there will be USGA
-U.S. Open Trophy Tours and the chance to have your photo taken with a U.S. Open Trophy!
