- In 2011, Suffolk County Legislator Jay Schneiderman
(I-Montauk) provided the Quogue School Districts PTA with a Community Support Initiative Grant for the rebuilding of the Quogue School District playground. Legislator Schneiderman's grant was used to install new wood fiber mulch for the playground. Due to some outdated equipment, the playground rebuilding project launched in 2011.
Through extensive community, government and school support in 2011, the Quogue School PTA installed a new structure, a new climbing boulder, ball toss and fresh wood fiber to cover many of the play surfaces. The PTA also recently installed a 20-foot, 12-sided gazebo to provide a shaded place to read, to teach and to learn. The Quogue School PTA plans to expand the playground for the school and community in 2012 by adding additional equipment for younger children and students.
The Quogue School PTA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
