The LongHouse Reserve in East Hampton will open for the season with the Roots of Modern exhibit on Saturday, April 20, 2013. The exhibit will run through to July 22, 2013. It presents a look at the non-Western art and the beauty that inspired modern European art and architecture, bringing together works from all over such as non-European works to East Asian ceramics to Native American fabrics and basketry to African and Oceanic furniture and masks from a period of over 5,000 years.

Roots of Modern is a spectacular way to show the rich history and heritage behind the designs of modern art and architecture. The exhibit will boast about two hundred pieves from LongHouse's own collection.

LongHouse Reserve is located at 133 Hands Creek Road in East Hampton. For more information call 631-329-3568 or visit www.longhouse.org.
