The Bridgehampton Historical Society has announced Bridgehampton resident Jacob Hostetter as their 2013 scholarship program winner. Hostetter, a High School senior, submitted a moving essay about his grandfather, Raymond H. Topping Sr., who had passed away last winter. The essay will be published in the society's Bridge Journal, which is due out soon. Not only will he have his essay published, but Hostetter will be receiving an award certificate and check for $1,000.

The mission of the historical society is simply to inspire the documentation, preservation and interpretation of the history, oral history and cultural traditions of Bridgehampton and its surrounding communities. The scholorship program enjoys the local youth's interpretation of the scholarship assignment.
