is kicking off its All Against Abuse Fashion Lab this August.
The series of special events is designed to integrate consumers with vintage, hip, luxury, and casual labels at great prices. The All Against Abuse Fashion Lab will debut at the Retreat Boutique thrift store in the Bridgehampton Commons
on Wednesday, August 22 from 6 to 8 p.m.
At the first Fashion Lab, customers will have the opportunity to transform their purchases with MAGO, an internationally acclaimed activist, painter and provocateur. MAGO's original designs that were painted on his store finds will be available for purchase, along with the boutique's large collections for both men and women.
"The Retreat's Fashion Lab with artist and activist MAGO is going to be a fantastic evening," said Vanessa Petruccelli of The Retreat. "It's a chance to create a one of a kind fashion statement while supporting The Retreat's voice in ending abuse. As the artwork states, it's All Against Abuse."
A special selection of MAGO's paintings, curated by Eiman Aziz of the Art Beyond Advisory will also be available for purchase through Labor Day
. While painting alongside MAGO, guests can enjoy a wine tasting featuring Jamesport Vineyards
hosted by Alex Sirico, founder of Cellier Wines Distributing.
"Beyond the funds raised through sales, the storefront is an opportunity for us to educate the public about the need in our community. The Retreat Boutique serves as a conduit for people who want to support our mission. Moreover, it provides access to clothing and furniture for our families that are starting over," Petruccelli added.
The Retreat is a safe haven for families in crisis on the East End of Long Island. The community based, not for profit have provided free domestic services for children and adults, support for survivors and prevention community education.
The Retreat Boutique in Bridgehampton is open seven days a week and its sales helps supports all of the Retreat's services. Clothing and furniture donations are always welcome.
The goal of the Fashion Lab Series is to spread the word about the Retreat and all the services it provides.
The event is free and open to the public, but advanced registration is required. To RVSP, visit www.theretreatinc.org/event/fashion-lab
