With Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October) coming to a close, Stony Brook Southampton Hospital
is hosting back-to-back weekends of fabulous Hamptons soirees where the community can support local breast cancer organizations.
"Everyone knows someone who has been touched by breast cancer, and because of that, the community has really embraced The Coalition for Women's Cancers
at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital
over the last few years," explained Susie Roden
, President, The Coalition for Women's Cancers at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital. "Local businesses are very aware of the importance of 'Give Where you Live,' and we are grateful for their support not only in October, but all year long. Because of their help, no woman on the South Fork will be alone in her fight against breast cancer, as proceeds from all of these events go directly to The Coalition and stay within our community."
First up, you can shop until you drop during a Shopping Night Out at Dockers
Waterside Marina & Restaurant (94 Dune Road, East Quogue) on Thursday, October 19. From 6 to 9 p.m., you can pursue through an alluring selection of jewelry, clothing and houseware vendors, nosh on delicious fare, sip on spectacular sips, and mingle with new and old friends. Admission is $10 - which includes a buffet and donation to The Coalition for Women's Cancers at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital.
Later in the week, the annual Real Men Wear Pink
party will take place at Maidstone
Tennis House (Maidstone Lane, East Hampton). On Saturday, October 21, round up your friends and get ready to revel in cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, raffles, and a silent auction from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $100 and proceeds support The Coalition for Women's Cancers at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, Lucia's Angels
and The Ellen Hermanson

The final BCAM gathering is the highly anticipated Girls Night Out at Gurney's
Montauk (290 Old Montauk Highway, Montauk) on Friday, October 27. Once you bid adieu to the workweek, get ready to be pampered with spa treatments and toast to the start of the weekend with wine and cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, music, and dancing and raffles. Girls Night Out will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. and admission ranges from $45 to $150 (depending on if you'd like a treatment, psychic reading, and raffles), with proceeds supporting The Coalition for Women's Cancers at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital. Additionally, the Hospital is presenting a complimentary Health Fair at Most Holy Trinity Church (57 Buell Lane, East Hampton) on Friday, November 3, where attendees can receive a free clinical breast exam, pap smear, and mammogram from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participants must be over 40 and registration is not necessary.
The Coalition for Women's Cancers at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital is a local, volunteer-driven group that is dedicated to "early detection and empowerment to bring about better health care and an improved quality of life." Lucia's Angels is committed to "helping women and families on Eastern Long Island with late-stage women's cancers including breast cancer, ovarian cancer, cervical cancer and uterine cancer." , which has been designated as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR), offers a "wide spectrum of breast health services, including education, early detection screenings and breast cancer treatment and support."
