East Hampton Chamber of Commerce is following up the tremendous turnout for the inaugural East Hampton Spring Street Fair with what is bound to become another beloved East End happening. On Saturday, October 21, Herrick Park will be home to East Hampton Village's first annual Fall Festival, organized by the Chamber of Commerce.
"This inaugural Fall Festival should be as big a success as the Spring Street Fair; we're so excited to have it in Herrick Park too," explained Steve Haweeli
, president of WordHampton Public Relations and member of the East Hampton Chamber of Commerce.
From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., there will be over 60 booths of local artists, food, crafts, business owners, and non-profit organizations, including Ellen Hermanson
Foundation, LVIS, East Hampton Meals on Wheels
, Guild Hall
, East Hampton Library
, Share the Harvest
, East Hampton Aviation Museum, East Hampton Ambulance, East Hampton Historical Farm Museum, East Hampton Historical Society
, and many, many more, onsite. Gene Casey and the Lone Sharks
and Inda Eaton
will be headlining the festival and Magic Steve - who "leaves a wake of laughing children every where he goes" - will be performing magic tricks. The festival will also feature music from the East Hampton High School Jazz Band.
For the kids, there will be a community mural painting project, a Kidzone sponsored by the East Hampton YMCA, a bouncy house, climbing wall, and science and art projects provided by the East End Children's Museum. There will also be a pumpkin patch with free pumpkin decorating, and a costume parade at 12 p.m., sponsored by the Eleanor Whitmore Childhood Center.
"It's beautiful to watch our community come together again for another first time event led by our chamber," noted Glen Vickers, Executive Director of the East Hampton YMCA. "Watching the diversity of business, community and government partners collaborating is impressive, we are happy to do our part."
And if that's not enough entertainment, there will be a trapeze show from artist Robin Lynch.
Steve Ringel, Executive Director of the East Hampton Chamber of Commerce, says the Fall Festival will be "a true community event to celebrate fall and the harvest season, as well as to showcase our wonderful businesses and organizations."
Restaurants in the Village will be open and offering special deals for the festival.
Admission to the Fall Festival is free.
