Hampton Racquet is once again teaming up with Project MOST
for yet another summer charity benefit. Earlier this summer, they partnered for the Give a Kid a Summer
charity tag sale and on Saturday, August 26, Hampton Racquet is presenting the 2017 Hampton Cup Junior Tournament, which will support the East Hampton-based 501c3 organization.
Hampton Racquet's backing greatly assisted in Project MOST's expansion of the organization's summer learning program at the Springs School and Most Holy Trinity Church. 85 children participated in the 2017 summer program, which is double the number served last year.
"Hampton Racquet is proud to support Project MOST and the incredible work that they do," explained John Graham
, owner of the Hampton Racquet. "We believe in the children of East Hampton and want to help to sustain programs that allow them to grow as individuals and find their way into adulthood. Programs like Project MOST allow children to understand that anything is possible creating brighter futures and strong future leadership for this community."
The Hampton Cup is a junior tennis tournament for ages 5-12. In addition to the tournament, attendees will enjoy a BBQ and other family activities. At the event there will be an arcade, face painting, a bounce house and an obstacle course. Trophies will be distributed and a raffle will also be held.
"Project MOST is very grateful for the ongoing support given by John and Monica Graham. Being selected as the charity beneficiary of the Hampton Cup, is a welcome opportunity to spread the word about this essential organization and the important work we do," noted Rebecca Morgan Taylor, Executive Director of Project MOST, "At the event, we will be announcing a new initiative called "Give a Student the MOST." This initiative will educate the community, supporters and individuals about the challenges we are facing in regard to our NY State Funding. Please join us to show your support for Project MOST!"
The tournament fee is $40 per child and the deadline
to enter is Saturday, August 19. The spectator fee (which includes access to the BBQ and activities) is $25 and children under four are free.
"We need other businesses and community leaders to step forward to help Project MOST so that this critical program can continue to support families and change lives," Graham added.
All proceeds from the event will benefit Project MOST.
Project MOST was originally part of the East Hampton Day Care Center and in 2005 Project MOST became a separate nonprofit, which serves three schools and over 300 children. The organization is committed to making sure that no student is left home alone after school, and presents engaging, entertaining programs like mentoring, dance/music classes, karate and homework help. Most of this organization's funding comes from public funding and specialty grants.
Hampton Racquet is located at 172 Buckskill Road in East Hampton. For more information visit www.projectmost.com.
