Southampton Hospital is the first provisional Level III adult trauma center on Long Island's East End, allowing the Hospital to provide assistance to the most critically injured patients. With an influx of visitors during the summer, this designation is even more significant and quicker treatment can often mean the difference between life and death for trauma patients.
