- The League of Women Voters of the Hamptons
challenges community organizations, businesses and individuals to field teams of four people to test their knowledge on a variety of topics at a Trivia Challenge to benefit Southampton Hospital
's Emergency Room.
The event takes place on Sunday, March 22, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Southampton Hospital's Parrish Memorial Hall on the corner of Herrick Road and Lewis Street, just south of the Emergency Room.
Enthusiastically emceeing the quiz will be Hamptons radio personality Walker Vreeland.
Admission to the event is a tax deductible donation of $50 per team member and $20 per spectator. The prize for the winning team is $400 in cash. Admission includes refreshments as well as the chance at a door prize and various pop quiz prizes.
How does a trivia quiz work? For each category, the emcee asks a series of 10 questions aloud. Teams fill in their answers on paper questionnaires and have a set amount of time to turn them in before the next category of questions is asked. The winner is the team with the greatest number of correct answers.
To register your team, mail team members' names and contact information, along with checks made out to the LWV NYS Education Foundation to The League of Women Voters of the Hamptons, P.O. Box 2253, East Hampton, NY 11937. Of the funds raised, 80 percent will benefit the Southampton Hospital Foundation and 20 percent will benefit the LWV NYS Education Foundation.
