The North Fork is one of Long Island's fall go to getaway destinations and, during October, it's the go to place for all the spooky sights and Halloween haunts you can handle. You won't want to miss out on any of this year's eerie and enchanting events. Here are six of the most devilish destinations the North Fork has to offer during this mysterious month.
1. The Cutchogue Fire Department

) is calling all ghosts and goblins to participate in their annual Children's Halloween Parade
from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, October 31, 2014. The fun will start at the Cutchogue West Elementary
School (385 Depot Lane, Cutchogue) and participants will parade on Route 25 towards the Village. After guest appearances from Sparky the Firedog and the CFD Marching Band, participants are invited to the firehouse for more in tricks and treats.

2. For one of the scariest sights around, check out the Darkside Haunted House
(5184 Route 25A, Wadding River, www.darksideproductions.com
). Credited for being Long Island's premier haunted attraction, Darkside promises to be "bone chilling" and "heart pounding" with their updated effects and new designs. It might be best to leave the little ones at home for this terrifying tour. The Haunted House is open Wednesday, October 22nd through Sunday, November 2nd.
3. For Halloween fun and costume contests, check out the Mattituck Lions Club annual Parade and Monster Mash
, which starts at 6 p.m. on Friday, October 31st. All are invited to meet at the Mattituck Fire House (1000 Pike Street, Mattituck, mattitucklionsclub.org
), and after participating in the parade, dance the night away at the Mattituck High School gymnasium (15125 Main Road, Mattituck), where tricks and treats and a special light show and DJ will make for a spooky spectacle.

4. For a family-friendly Halloween bash, head over to Safari Adventure (1074 Pulaski Street, Riverhead, www.thesafariadventure.com
) for their annual Halloween Party
from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 25th. Children ages one to ten, and their families, are welcomed to dress in costume and join the party, which will be complete with DJ music, dancing games, activities, crafts, and other special treats.
5. For a unique twist on a traditional fall activity, head over to Harbes Farm and Orchard (5698 Sound Avenue, Riverhead, www.harbesfamilyfarm.com
) and experience their Spooky Corn Maze
from 7 to 10 p.m. on any Friday or Saturday after October 11th. With flashlights, friends and fun, the maze is sure to be a chilling and thrilling adventure. Or you can follow the yellow brick road to the Mattituck location (715 Sound Avenue, Mattituck) for The Wizard of OZ Corn Maze

6. Celebrate Halloween aquarium style from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 1st, at this year's Bats, Barnacles and Broomsticks Halloween Party
. The Long Island Aquarium and Exhibition Center

) will be transformed into a haunted Halloween house, where all "buoys and ghouls" in costume will enter at a discounted admission price and enjoy trick-or-treating, magic shows, hay rides, pumpkin painting, and other crafts and games.
