Promised Land Remembered is an exhibition featuring early paintings by Mabel D’Amico depicting the former fish factory at Promised Land in Amagansett, accompanied by a brief historical narrative about the once-bustling fishing industry and Mabel and Victor D’Amico’s history and relationship with the place. Co-organized with Rachel Gruzen, the exhibit features works on paper dating to the 1940s along with photographs, research, and anecdotes relating the historically significant activity of this former fishing port and menhaden processing plant off Cranberry Hole Road in Amagansett.
