Local "makers" will take center stage during The Peconic Community School's 2nd annual Create: a Maker Fair on Saturday, March 25th. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., all are invited to visit the School's Aquebogue campus where the area's experts will impress the attendees as the present workshops and demos that focus on robotics and legos, coding and felting, origami and art, and much more.

"We are very excited about this year's Maker Fair since we will be hosting it our own school location this year, we will get to showcase the great work done by our students and teachers in our beautiful classrooms," shared Co-Executive Director of Peconic Community School, Liz Casey Searl. "We are also thrilled to be welcoming back many of the makers who came to last year's Maker Fair, Tesla, Long Island Science Museum, and Custer Institute will all be back, as well as some new ones."

The family-friendly festival celebrates invention, creativity and resourcefulness through complimentary interactive workshops, hands-on crafts and demos, and performances.

"It's one of the best events we put on, its sort of magical, as it beautifully celebrates innovation, invention, and creativity, and sustainability - all of which are so important in a 21st century world in a small town setting," added Casey Searl.

Create: a Maker Fair will also include a fishbowl auction where guests can take a chance on a multitude of exciting items, and one lucky fairgoer will be awarded a special door prize.
