If you purchased your tickets and made the plans, I'm sure you found the 9th annual Love Heals at Luna Farm to be worth every cent and as special as you hoped.

Love Heals at Luna Farm is the 'can't miss' fundraising event held the third Saturday in June in Sagaponack to benefit Love Heals, the Alison Gertz Foundation for AIDS Education. As a board member for the past five years, I have had the honor of witnessing this incredible event many times and this year's festivities did not disappoint.

All proceeds benefit Love Heals, which is the leading provider of HIV/AIDS education in the New York City schools, reaching more than 50,000 annually. Love Heals was founded in 1992 by Stefani Greenfield of Scoop, writer Dini von Mueffling, and producer and expectant mother Victoria Leacock Hoffman (it's a boy!) after losing their dear friend Alison Gertz. Ali was infected with HIV at the age of 16 and went public with her story so that other young people would have the information that she did not.

On Saturday, June 21 in Sagaponack for the ninth consecutive year, a summer chic crowd gathered to show their support for Love Heals. This year's theme, 'An Adventure in Wonderland', brought a life-sized deck of cards, tables decorated with tea sets and "eat me" labels, pink flamingos and "this way" signs, and some great set pieces on loan from alice + olivia.

Guests enjoyed homemade BBQ courtesy of Deforest Gibbs of Charleston, SC and Tasti D' Lite out of an old-fashioned ice cream truck, then danced to the tunes of DJ Ruckus who kept the crowd moving to hits from the 1970s and 1980s as well as current top 10 favorites.

In attendance were Katie Lee Joel dancing with friends in a gorgeous Yigal Azrouel gown, Russell Simmons with model girlfriend Porschla Coleman, Grand Sponsor Donny Deutsch, Kelly Killorren Bensimon in a fabulous long tie-dye dress, event sponsor Charlotte Ronson, Unik, Haley and Jason Binn, Jeffrey Goldstein of Blue & Cream, and leggy model types drinking Imperia vodka cocktails and sipping Voss water in the VIP section.

And of course the event could not exist without the generous support of the Grand sponsor, Donny Deutsch.

"Love Heals is an amazing charity and one that I'm proud to be a part of," said Donny Deutsch, Host of CNBC's "The Big Idea."

Other sponsors included Theory, Limited Brands, alice + olivia, Charlotte Ronson, Scoop, and HBO. The weekend before, designer Tory Burch lent her support with a Love Heals shopping benefit at her 'over-the-top glam' East Hampton boutique.

The silent auction had a stellar selection of designer bags, hot fashion, and one-of-a-kind experiences and provided guests with something to do when they took a breather from the dance floor. The big hit was a "Gossip Girl" set tour - the bidding went onto three pages! The Townhouse Miami hotel stay, Marc Jacobs bag, and dinner for four at Nobu were also quite popular. An online auction with even more fabulous prizes - including an eight-night stay at the W Downtown, which is slated to open in 2009 - will be launching on July 10 at www.charityfolks.com.

As if that weren't enough, guests left with gift bags that included Diane von Furstenberg lipstick, Charlotte Ronson totes, and products from Frank and Kahn, Carolee, Bumble and Bumble and Dr. Michelle Copeland. VIPs also got a Theory tank.

Best of all, the 9th annual Love Heals at Luna Farm raised more than $230,000 in support of Love Heals' efforts to empower young people in the fight against HIV.

To those of you who were able to join us thank you for your support and for those who would like to get involved with the Love Heals mission you can visit us online at www.loveheals.com.
