Another great week has passed. "The Housewives of New York City
- Lost Scenes" were on television this past week. I heard from many fans and everyone seemed to like it. I loved the piece I did with Gina Glickman for Hamptons.com Main Street Series last Saturday from Main Street in Southampton Village
. It was so comfortable.
Last Saturday I was also interviewed by R. Couri Hay
at Plum TV's set in Sagaponack. I wore my TEAM JILL shirt and Pucci
shorts and Ginger came with me everywhere in her new TEAM JILL shirt. If anyone wants one, go to jillzarin.com. If you take a picture of yourself in it, I will put it online!
Next, I went to meet my family at Jason and Haley Binn
's Annual Memorial Day kick-off party. My family, especially the children, Jessica, Jillian, Jaclyn, Grace, Jake, Piper and Crosby really love it the most. Besides the ice cream truck, the entire front lawn was dedicated to children's activities - including a magician! I ran into Bethenny, Ramona, and Alex there. Everyone looked great and ready for summer.
After the party we went home, changed, and regrouped. I wore a lime green and purple Valentino
Cashmere coat, it was chilly. Bobby and I went to the Mansion party for Social Life Magazine's cover girl Whitney Port
of "The Hills". She looked so beautiful in a flowing gown. We are both fans of each other and exchanged numbers. I even called her with Ally the next day who was very excited to talk to her.
Last, we went to my friend Amelia's house for a holiday barbecue and ran into some old friends. With Amelia, there is no place like home. Then we finally went home. The rest of the weekend we never left the house. We cooked and had a movie night with my entire family staying with us. In case you want to know there were about 15 people not including Ally's friends who also slept over. I am exhausted trying to remember it all.
This week was also crazy. I think the highlight was seeing a private screening of "Sex and the City
" thanks to Bethenny. She has a column in HEALTH
magazine and was invited with a guest to see it in the Time Warner screening room. Hardly a small room by the way, it held 190 people! They had a wonderful cocktail party before and I met so many wonderful women. But really, don't you want to know about the movie? I won't ruin it, but I will say, bring tissues and it is two-and-a-half hours long! The clothing did not disappoint! Kristin Davis was sitting two rows behind me and she looked even more beautiful in person in a bright green dress and her hair was up with a huge bun. She is quite a lady, and wonderful actress I might add.
Tuesday I was a guest on Judith Regan's show on Sirius Satellite Radio. She was so sweet and called my mom, Gloria, and sister, Lisa Wexler
from www.livewithlisaradio.com, to ask them questions about my childhood. I am so lucky to have such a loving wonderful family.
Tuesday night Bethenny, Jason, Bobby and I went to Rao's for dinner. Since our show was airing live, Frank let us watch some of it in his office in the back. It was so exciting to watch it together. We shot those scenes so long ago and it was fun to watch.
Looking forward to the weekend in the Hamptons!
My question for you is if you were 38, single and living in Manhattan - how would you go about finding a great man? We all know that is a tough order in NYC. I really don't love the time commitment that online dating requires. You found Bobby so you obviously know what you are doing in this area. You are a great couple and he seems like you are the center of his universe - love that!
Ali, an Easy going Upper West Sider Looking for Love
I really should throw this question to my girlfriend Bethenny. We spent the weekend at our house in the Hamptons. We talk about being single and relationships all the time. First of all maybe you should stop "looking" for a great man. If you are a great girl, he will find you. Relax. We make plans and God laughs. There is a reason you have been single up until now and time will reveal that to you. Next, smile - people don't realize that a smile communicates so much. Men want to be around happy people. Last, don't think so hard. Just enjoy life one day at a time and when you aren't looking it will happen.
Can't wait for the next season of "The Real Housewives of New York City". As a businesswoman I travel a great deal but TiVo your show. It's exciting, fresh and real. I have a summer home in Southampton and my husband and I continually frequent the same restaurants. Any exciting restaurants I should try? I know all the regulars, any hidden or special places?
Marilyn, New York City
The season is just starting so I haven't been to many of the new restaurants yet. Although I know Kobe Club is amazing in East Hampton. Please tell them I sent you. When I try some new ones - I will post them. If you try any, please let me know your review.
