Several East End Inns will welcome notable authors from Friday, February 28 through Sunday, March 1 as part of the
Hamptons Bedside Reading Authors' Weekend.
"The 2nd Annual
Hamptons Bedside Reading Authors' Weekend event has evolved into a wonderful community of people who love to read, are excited to hear from the authors about their lives and their process,"
Jane Ubell-Meyer, Bedside Reading Founder, shared. "The hotels have been extremely gracious. It's a fun weekend filled with cocktails, books, baking, food, new friendships, and a fabulous group of authors!"
The Weekend will launch with a lavish Friday evening cocktail party at
Topping Rose House (1 Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike, Bridgehampton) with
I Know How This Ends author Amy Impellizzeri. The fête will take place from 6 to 8 p.m.
Saturday will offer a jam-packed schedule, kicking off with
The Baker's Man author Jennifer Moorman who will lead a baking lesson at White Fences Inn (371 Montauk Highway, Water Mill) at 10 a.m. Those in attendance should plan on sticking around because
You've Been Volunteered Laurie Gelman will speak next, followed by a decadent Five North Chocolate tasting event.
"This year we are hosting Jennifer Moorman - with my love for baking and Jennifer's book,
The Baker's Man, which is about a girl who owns a bakery, we thought it would be fun to add a baking demo to kick off Saturday events," Liz Brodar, White Fences Inn Co-Owner, shared. "One of my other passions is chocolate.... and I always like to share local products here at the Inn with our guests. We use Five North Chocolate here so after the baking demo we will host a chocolate tasting while Laurie Gelman talks about her book,
You've Been Volunteered. It will be a very sweet morning here!"
The festivities will move to
The 1770 House (143 Main Street, East Hampton) at 2 p.m., where guests will enjoy
Hampton Coffee and a chat with
The Moments Between author Natalie Banks about her new thriller.
"The Bedside Reading themed weekend is a great way for visitors from near and far to experience the Hamptons' luxury B&Bs while meeting authors in unique events. On Saturday, from 2 to 4 p.m., we are hosting author Natalie Banks for a book reading and signing of her new novel
The Moments Between," Carol Covell, The 1770 House General Manager, noted. "
Hampton Coffee Company will be pouring. The weekend also coincides with Winterfest and our best lodging rates of the year. Many good reasons at this time of year to come East."
Later on in the evening,
The Baker House 1650 (181 Main Street, East Hampton) will take over the hosting duties with a champagne and cocktails soiree from 5 to 7 p.m. The gathering will raise a glass to
The Murder List author Hank Phillippi Ryan.
The fun will come to a close during the Sunday brunch at the
Maidstone Hotel (207 Main Street, East Hampton) from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. with
The Prophecy author Kim Sakwa.
"Hamptons Bedside Reading is a great weekend for book lovers in the quiet winter months. Meet six bestselling authors in an intimate setting while visiting five of the top Hamptons inns," Brodar added. "The author events are open to public with the purchase of the package, which includes all six books and all events starting Friday evening and concluding Sunday afternoon, a great way to spend a weekend."
