Over Thanksgiving weekend, when you’ve reached the point where you’ve spent enough time with loved ones that a break is necessary, sneak away to Bay Street for some comedic relief – that doesn’t involve painfully hilarious interactions with family.
All Star Comedy host Joseph Vecsey returns to the Sag Harbor-based theater for the all new iteration taking place on Saturday, November 24 at 9:30 p.m., which marks the series’ first late show on a Saturday night – meaning things might just get a little crazier than normal.
“It’s Thanksgiving weekend. It’s the perfect time to get out of the house to see comedy,” Vecsey noted. “Especially when everyone in your house is getting on your nerves.”
In addition to Vecsey, who appears in Optimum’s Unmovers and Sandy Wexler and was a co-producer on Adam Sandler’s Netflix special 100% Fresh, the late night show will feature sets from Adam Mamawala, Doug Smith, and Emma Willmann.
Mamawala was named one of Funny or Die‘s “Top 30 Under 30: Comedians to Watch.” His debut album, One of the Good Ones, earned the number one spot on the iTunes Comedy Charts in December of 2017. He has appeared on Comedy Central, MTV, BET and SeeSo, headlined at more than 200 colleges across the nation, and has performed at the Laughing Skull Comedy Festival, Boston Comedy Festival, and New York Comedy Festival. Mamawala is also a freelance contributor to Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update.
Smith made his late night debut on Conan. He was named a New Face at the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival in 2013 and has performed at the Oddball Comedy and Curiosity Festival, Bridgetown Comedy Festival, and the NY Comedy Festival – where he was selected to host six sold out shows for Norm Macdonald. Smith co-hosts the stand-up/variety show See You in Hell, which earned a spot on The Comedy Bureau‘s Top 100 Best Things in Comedy 2014. He also appeared in AXS TV’s Gotham Comedy Live, Fuse’s Uproarious and Comedy Central’s This is Not Happening.
Willmann made her stand up debut on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert – earning accolades from Colbert himself, who said, “Emma is hilarious.” The Maine native, who currently calls NYC home, was lauded as a New Face at the Just for Laughs Festival in 2016. She was also called One of the 10 Funniest Women in NYC by Time Out New York. Additionally, Willmann is a regular on The CW’s Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and appeared in Netflix’s The Comedy Lineup.
“This show will break the tension and possibly save the family,” Vecsey added. “Sorry there’s no show during Christmas vacation to save you.”
Tickets are $30 in advance, but if you plan on attending the December 7 All Star Comedy show too and purchase tickets for both now, it’s only $50.
