Performing a two-part concert series, The Hidden City Orchestra (HCO) will hit the stage over Halloween weekend for back-to-back extraordinary evenings held on the East End of Long Island. A multitude of disciplines will be chaotically introduced during Order Masquerading as Chaos, including sound and visual sculptors, dancers, concert pianists, painters and poets.
The series will show the transformation from chaos into something beautiful and different; a strange concept that satisfies what has always set HCO apart from others. The HCO is a quartet comprised of George Cork Maul on piano, cellist Jeannine Woelker, vibraphonist Fabrizio D’Antonio and Terry Keevil on oboe, duduk and other eccentric wind instruments. Other special guest performers, including concert pianist Paolo Bartolani, painters Alan Bull and Christopher Maiorana, trombonist extraordinaire Bob Hovey, and dancer Susan Blacklocke, will be featured in this uncanny production.
The series will begin at the Shelter Island Presbyterian Church (32 North Ferry Road, Shelter Island) at 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 29th. Following this performance, another will be held at Poquatuck Hall (1160 Skippers Lane, Orient) on Sunday, October 30th at 4 p.m. to conclude the two-part series.
Tickets are $12 to $20.
