Guild Hall will once again draw its curtains for another enchanting tale this fall.
Opening on Friday, September 23rd at 7:30 p.m., Our Fabulous Variety Show (OFVS) will share their twist on J.M. Barrie’s Peter Pan at East Hampton’s John Drew Theater at Guild Hall. OFVS’s Neverlanded can also be seen on Saturday, September 24th at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, September 25th at 2 p.m.
“Neverlanded is a modern re-telling based on Peter Pan, the boy who never grew up,” explained Anita Boyer and Kasia Klimiuk, Founders of Our Fabulous Variety Show.
As for the performance itself, don’t arrive assuming you know this story, even if you’ve read the bedtime story and seen the Disney adaptation countless times. Rather than flying far, far away (as in the original story), Peter and Wendy are running their own business selling Pixie Elixir, all while protecting themselves and the Lost Boys from Hook and his dangerous crew of pirates. But, can they really outsmart the conniving pirates once again?
“All your favorite characters return from Captain Hook to Wendy, Michael and John Darling, the Lost Boys play the militant Tap Army, Bohemian Pirates and more,” the duo noted. “With 50 local actors and dancers between the ages of 5 and 40, the show is family friendly and great for all ages. Featuring our showstopping dance numbers, beautiful harmonies from our singing Sirens, incredible acting and lots of twists and surprises!”
Tickets for this modern twist on the beloved childhood tale will range from $15 to $55, depending on seats. Proceeds from Neverlanded will benefit Southampton Fresh Air Home, a not-for-profit residential camp for physically challenged youth, who won OFVS’ annual beneficiary contest in August of 2016.
