Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is looking for equity actors to star in its upcoming production of The Scarlet Letter. Auditions will take place on Wednesday, September 28th from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Bay Street.
The Scarlet Letter is based on the novel by Nathaniel Hawthorne and was adapted by Scott Eck and Joe Minutillo – the play’s Director. John Sullivan will serve as the Associate Producer, and Sullivan is expected to be in attendance at the EPA.
Performers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are encouraged to audition, as well as actors local to the area. Actors will be seen on a first-come, first-seen basis. No appointments are necessary. The contract includes $475/week minimum. For the audition, actors are expected to read from Sides which will be provided.
Actors’ contracts run from Monday, October 17th through Sunday, November 26th, 2016.
Bay Street Theater is searching for actors to fill the following roles: Hester Prynne (protagonist in her 20s), Roger Chillingworth (50s), Pearl (7-10), Governor Bellingham (late 50s), Mistress Hibbins (40s), Goodwife Robson and Goodwife Doolittle (35 to 45), The Beadle (40-50), and The Blacksmith (40-50).
Bay Street Theater and Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is a year-round, not-for-profit professional theater and community cultural center. Their mission is to “innovate, educate, and entertain a diverse community through the practice of the performing arts.”
This production is part of the theater’s Literature Live program, which provides students with a unique educational experience by bringing curriculum-based literature to the stage.
