Award-winning star, Sutton Foster, will make an appearance at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center on Saturday, July 23rd at 8 p.m. She will perform some of Broadway’s favorite songs.
Foster recently starred in the opening of the PBS special A Capitol 4th, and can currently be seen in TV Land’s Younger. She has earned several winning awards, including a Tony Award in 2001 for her outstanding Broadway performance as Reno Sweeney in the smash hit Anything Goes. Foster took home her second Tony Award in 2002 for her portrayal of Willie Dillmount in Thoroughly Modern Millie.
Following her two Tony Awards, Foster received the Drama Desk, Astaire, Outer Critic’s Circle and Broadway.com’s Audience Favorite Award for Anything Goes in 2011.
Foster’s natural acting, singing, and dancing abilities are what makes her performances so captivating. She has also landed starring roles in Broadway plays, including Shrek: The Musical with a Tony and Drama Desk nomination while winning an Outer Critics Circle Award. Additionally, Sutton starred as Inga in Mel Brook’s Young Frankenstein and countless more.
And acting is not Foster’s only forte! She released her first solo CD Wish in 2009. The album includes something for everyone, like Up on the Roof and Oklahoma, or Foster’s personal favorite, Sunshine on My Shoulders by the late John Denver.
Foster’s second CD is comprised of 20 songs recorded live at New York’s Café Carlyle during her sold out performance there. It’s entitled Sutton Foster: Live at the Café Carlyle.
“It’s definitely quirky and weird-and very much me,” she remarked about the album.
