Two-time Tony Award winning Broadway star Chita Rivera is set to perform at Guild Hall this summer. You can join the East Hampton-based performing arts center for an enchanting evening on Saturday, July 23rd at 8 p.m. as part of Chita: A Legendary Celebration.
Since taking the stage at age eleven as ballerina, Rivera has done nothing short of dazzle audience members in all of her roles. The actress is most remembered for her outstanding roles in Call Me Madam, West Side Story, Bye Bye Birdie, Chicago, and The Rink. She was also recognized in 2002 as the first Hispanic woman to ever receive the Kennedy Center Honor and in 2009 by President Barack Obama for The Presidential Medal of Freedom. According to USA Today, Chita Rivera “has the rare presence of a thoroughbred star!”
In the celebration set for July 23rd, Rivera will recreate superlative performances from her illustrious métier highlighting West Side Story, Sweet Charity, Chicago, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Bye, Bye, Birdie, The Rink and The Visit. She will also pay homage to friends John Kander and Fred Ebb, and the timeless music of Leonard Bernstein. A live trio accompaniment featuring Charles Strouse, Jerry Herman and Stephen Sondheim will complete the show.

Tickets begin at $38 for members of Guild Hall and $40 for non-members.
