The Neo-Political Cowgirls, under the direction of Kate Mueth, is leaving its mark on Off-Broadway this season. A limited-edition run of their award-winning production, "Eve," is making its way from the Hamptons to New York City's The Gym at Judson.

The immersive dance theater experience takes the audience on a journey through an 11-room set, surrounded by music and art. "I tend to create work out of the questions of my life at the time- and when I began diving into this Eve story I was struggling (and had been for many, many years) with my relationship to my father - the struggle I had growing up trying to live unfettered, from my own free will, on my own voice, without the dark shadow of religion or punitive measures," shared Mueth. "In lieu of this freedom in my upbringing, how then do I stand on my own two feet, confidently, with my own ideas and character and skills? Where does my value come from if I haven't learned to feel it within me (or it's been squashed) from sources outside of me?"

The production tells the story of the struggle and resurrection of The Maker's "perfect woman" creation. "In Eve we aren't telling my story per se, we are watching these questions arise through these funky, wonderfully magical and weird characters who are essentially living in the vacuum of the obsessive Maker's created world," explained Mueth.

After the mad "Maker" creates the "ideal woman," she is set free with a companion, "man." Eve's expedition through societal beliefs and everlasting exploration guides her towards her own free will, testing the admiration and authority of the controlling Maker.

Actress Blythe Danner said the experience is "not to be missed."

Performances will take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays at 7 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. Tickets are $35.

The Gym at Judson is located at 243 Thompson Street in New York City. For tickets, visit brownpapertickets.com.
