Literature Live! is bringing a performance of “The Diary of Anne Frank” to the Bay Street Theatre stage starting Friday, November 8 through Tuesday, November 26. Bay Street’s educational program selects a piece of literature from the core curriculum and performs it for schools across Long Island as well as the public.
“We are looking forward to this year’s Literature Live! 2013 performance of Anne Frank,” says Executive Director Tracy Mitchell. “The Literature Live program reaches thousands of students as well as the general public and we are glad to bring this important story back to life this fall in a fully staged, theatrical production.”
“The Diary of Anne Frank,” is a stage adaptation written by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett. The play is set during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands and explores the lives of eight people hiding from persecution in a concealed space above a warehouse.
The cast includes Jessica Mortellaro (Anne Frank), Sawyer Avery (Peter Van Daan), Keith Cornelius (Mr. Frank), Georgia Warner (Margot Frank), Chloë Dirksen (Miep), Terrance Fiore (Mr. Dussel), Lydia Franco-Hodges (Mrs. Frank), Josh Gladstone (Mr. Van Daan), Kate Mueth (Mrs. Van Daan), and Joe Pallister (Mr. Kraler). Joe Minutillo will direct the production.
Tickets are $12 for students and $25 for adults with special rates for schools and other group.
