The Montauk Music Festival is bringing live music to the Hamptons with close to a hundred bands playing at various restaurants, bars and venues throughout Montauk this weekend. The festival kicks off at Gurney's Inn with Meet the Musician's at the Opening Party on Thursday May 16 from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. Opening night talent includes Dylan Jennet, Bennett, The Mallett Brothers, Isle of Rhodes, Oogee Wawa, Kayla Stockert, Forward Motion, One Love & Kenny Varriale, Remember September and Love Cryme.

One of the main focuses for the festival organizers was to keep the Music Festival a community event. This years performers include more Hamptons based youth performers and programs like the Montauk Youth Afternoon Showcase who will showoff their talent at Gosman's Stage on Friday May 17, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. On the Village Green, The East Hampton High School Far East Fiddle Club will open the festival on Sunday morning at 11 a.m., followed by The East Hampton High School Jazz Band at 11:30 a.m.

This year's lineup includes performers who hail from the Hamptons like Montauk's Megan Leonardo as well from all over the country like the self-trained Jose Polo from Colombia. Music of all different genres ranging from country to rock to electronica to reggae and more can be heard during the festival.

Performances throughout the weekend can be seen at the following venues Sail Inn, Gurney's Inn, Navy Beach, The Point Bar & Grill, Last Hope Lagoon, The Dock, Gosmans, Montauk Bake Shop, Fish BAR, Inlet Seafood, Johns Pancake, Bliss Kitchen, MTK Café, Light House Grill, Harvest, East By Northest, Shagwong Restaurant & Bar, Sole East, Montauk Manor, 668 The Gig Shack, Montauk Yacht Club, Liar's Saloon, The Lake Club, Manucci's, Lynn's Hula Hut, Trails End, O'Murphy's Pub, Montauket, The Hideaway, Sammy's, South Edison, Zum Schneider and The Coast.
