's summer musical is Studs Terkel's
Tony-nominated "Working" playing through July 31 on the stage of The Levitas Center for the Arts at the Cultural Center. Based on the best-selling book of interviews with American workers, the dynamic yet down-to-earth musical explores the American workday from the Monday morning blues to a working person's pride in having "something to point to" and uses original words from the "uncommon" common men and women Terkel spoke with. Adapted by Stephen Schwartz
and Nina Faso
, it includes songs by Mary Rodgers
and James Taylor
, among others.
Showtimes are Thursday through Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 5 p.m. in the Southampton Cultural Center, 25 Pond Lane, across from Agawam Park
in Southampton Village
