If you’ve missed watching films on the big screen, head to Southampton Arts Center (SAC) this October where an array of outdoors viewings will take place on SAC’s west lawn.
“Now that we have our own stage and equipment, we have the luxury of expanding our outdoor programs further into the fall, traditionally moving indoors after Labor Day,” Amy Kirwin, Southampton Arts Center Artistic Director, relayed.
SAC will present tributes to Chadwick Boseman and John Lewis, as well as the East End’s Indigenous community – and also host a pre-Halloween double feature. Additionally, Southampton Arts Center will serve as a Hamptons International Film Festival outdoor venue – with screenings on Sunday, October 11 and Monday, October 12.
“With current restrictions on gatherings, we are fortunate to have the ability to utilize our grounds to continue offering a variety of new and classic feature films and documentaries to the community before it gets too cold. But you will definitely want to bundle up!” Kirwin added.
Sunday Docs will continue through October 24 and Friday features will run through October 30.
Upcoming screenings include A Tribute to Chadwick Boseman: Black Panther on Friday, October 9 at 7:00 p.m., a Hamptons International Film Festival screening of Us Kids on Sunday, October 11 at 7:00 p.m., a Hamptons International Film Festival screening of Truman & Tennessee: An Intimate Conversation on Monday, October 12 at 7:00 p.m., Office Space, In Celebration of National Boss’s Day!, on Friday, October 16 at 7:00 p.m., Gather, in honor of our Indigenous Community, on Sunday, October 18 at 6:00 p.m., Hocus Pocus on Friday, October 23 at 6:00 p.m., John Lewis: Good Trouble on Sunday, October 25 at 6:00 p.m., The Nightmare Before Christmas on Friday, October 30 at 6:00 p.m. and Pet Sematary on Friday, October 30 at 8:00p.m.
