The East Hampton Food Pantry is hosting a Free Movie Night at Indian Wells Beach in Amagansett on Thursday, August 23.
The screening will feature Moana, which tells the story of a Polynesian chief’s daughter and her journey to find demi god, Maui and return the heart of Te Fiti and save her people.
Moana features Auliʻi Cravalho as the lead and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Maui.
Admission to the viewing is free, but donations are greatly appreciated. Food and drink will be available to purchase by local sponsors: Stuart’s Seafood Market, Amagansett Beach & Bicycle, Art of Eating, Vicki’s Veggies and 3 Moms Organics.
Proceeds will benefit the East Hampton Food Pantry which strives to aid the food insecure that reside in the Hamptons. Last year, the Pantry aided 14,296 individuals and 6,230 households.
“100 percent of what we raise from donations and food sales will go to stocking the shelves of the East Hampton Food Pantry,” noted East Hampton Food Pantry Board Member Darius Narizzano of Saunders, who is underwriting the event.
Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs.
The gates open at 7 p.m. and the movie will begin at dusk, approximately 7:45 p.m.
The East Hampton Food Pantry, which is located at 159 Pantigo Road, offers food distribution every Tuesday, from 1 to 6 p.m., while donations can be made Monday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
